Scott Freeman is a Business Development Manager at EPG Administration Services.
Scott joined EPG Administration from Case Construction (part of CNH Industrial) where he has worked since 1990. Whilst at Case Construction, Scott was responsible for driving increased market share and developing the dealer network in the UK and Ireland. With a career spanning over 25 years of experience, he has a solid track record of scaling revenue in the construction, agricultural and industrial equipment industry.
We caught up with Scott in-between meetings to find out what makes him tick. Enjoy reading!
Tell us a bit about your experience prior to your current role.
In my ‘previous life’ I enjoyed working for CNH Industrial for over 26 years. I started there as management trainee and quickly moved onto sales & marketing. I then became a Business Manager and after being promoted to Business Director UK & Eire, I’ve spent the last 12 years looking after the CASE construction brand. I was very fortunate to meet many interesting people during that period, and to visit dealers and customers in different locations around the world.
What does a typical day at work involve for you?
My role is Business Development Manager, and my role is to build new and maintain existing business relationships for the company.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
The role is very much hands on visiting dealers and manufacturers, obviously through previous life I have many business relationships, and I am enjoying creating many more in the current role within the agricultural and construction industry.
What are your biggest successes to date?
Signing up new business is the most important goal, I always get satisfaction from this regardless of the size of the client, they are all important to me.
What are the most important things for you to achieve this year?
We have set ourselves very ambitious targets to grow our business in many areas, ultimately the most important thing is to deliver, deliver the target level and deliver a professional service to our customers.
What characteristic do you most admire in your colleagues?
It is a pleasure to be part of a company that has employees with a strong desire to succeed and a passionate approach to work.
What is the best advice you ever got?
My father gave me the best advice, never ask anybody to do something you are not prepared to do yourself, and always work hard!!!!
What is your life motto?
Always give it your best shot!
What is your favourite book / movie?
Favorite book is ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’ from my younger days in life.
What does your perfect weekend look like?
On a Saturday I like to play golf and spend the evening in, relaxing. I spend Sundays with my family, walk the dog, simple stuff… I like to take it steady and relax.
What is your favorite company tradition?
It’s more of a philosophy than tradition, but I’m sold on the family-owned business idea. John and Holly’s ambition [family owners] is to drive forward together and this is exactly what we are doing.
